Is a terrier or bull terrier or shar pei mix. Or all of the above. She’s eight to twelve weeks old, weighs seven pounds, and comes into the team nursing an ear injury but otherwise seemingly healthy. She’s been seen to drag her butt, but the team doctors are on it and should have a diagnosis next week.

Early reports on Team Dog chemistry are good. Team Cat is a little leery, but that’s always the way when the opponent adds a significant contributor.

The rookie has demonstrated advanced tug-of-war skills, a rudimentary understanding of ball, and absolutely no comprehension of when and where not to pee.

She hasn’t divulged her name yet. Head Coach Kenny intends to pull for Saffron in continuation of his Firefly-related naming theme, but player nicknames on Team Dog are always decided democratically.

No word yet on planned Team Cat roster moves to deal with this new threat to the Cute Championship.
