Getting the best of you.

All bodies are beautiful, and no one has the right to tell you there's anything wrong with yours, but some of us (many of us?) are currently working to change the details of the flesh we live in. Maybe it's health related. Maybe it's vanity related. Maybe it's a role in a play. Who cares? It's your body, and you have every right to do with it what you will.

For me, the past few years have been a start-stop mashup of exercise plans with the intention of losing a fair amount of body fat. These programs (gym memberships, jogging, P90X, etc.) haven't entirely produced the kind of results I would like. This is likely because the vast majority of people who are overweight or obese will not maintain their desired numbers in the long term, but still, I have no chance of achieving my goals if I don't try, right? The string of failed attempts make starting anew all that much harder, though, growing exponentially more difficult with each pass.


So that's where you come in. If you have found success (current, or past), I want to know: what was the very day you went from your "old" ways to your "new." Do you remember what made you change your habits? Were there any environmental factors that helped you alter your routine? What made it stick? Did you have support?
