Have you ever said/thought something in a conversation and realized that it's a song lyric? I do that all the time, and I bet some of you do too. But do you do that, and also realize, that regularly, the song has nothing to do with the meaning of that line to your current conversation? No? I'll be heading away to my weird little corner, then...
My latest one, for illustrative purposes:
1. Phrase: "I don't believe you"
2. Song title/line: "I don't believe you (she acts like we never have met)" (Bob Dylan)*
3. Song meaning: I just listened to it so I could say something about it here. I can say with confidence that it appears to be about a romantic relationship. My relationship with Snacktastic (and the very many other people to whom I would say "I don't believe you") is not romantic. I think. Have a listen, even though I don't like it very much:
* I realize, that from my latest posts, you might get the idea that I am some sort of Bob Dylan fan. That is not the case. My relationship with Bob Dylan is limited to my dad buying me that Biograph disc set in an airport somewhere in duty free. I have probably listened to more Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, and Neil Diamond. More Celine Dion and Bon Jovi for sure. *Sneaks back to corner.*
