I used to listen to this one while writing papers. The wordplay was not as clever as Mr. Mraz hoped it was, but somehow I heard "listen closely to the place I'm from" instead of "listen closer to the verse I lay," and I found that inspiring.
What makes a good song to you? One of my friends only cares about the lyrics - if the words are clever, mediocre melodies are acceptable. I like to see and hear things coming together, so I need both. But the more clever the wordplay, the more I giggle.
