I work indirectly with kids in foster care, and frankly, I don’t see a lot of cause for hope in many of their situations.* It’s a deeply discouraging system where kids are abandoned, abused, neglected, and overmedicated. Judges, lawyers, social workers, parents, relatives, and foster parents try their absolute best, but the outcomes are often really bad. So I’m always uplifted to see someone who survives and thrives! Enter the VERY funny Tiffany Haddish, who hosted SNL last night. Check out her monologue and start Sunday with a laugh.
Try to stay positive today. The world isn’t a happy place right now. Lift each other up, okay??
*Edited because my initial wording wasn’t fair to the kids themselves. Kids don’t ask to be put in shitty situations.
