It’s Friday again, which means it’s time for Fur Face Friday, your home for the best pets from around the Kinjaverse. Last week was an especially good week, with far too many high quality critters. Even selectively picking them, I still ended up with twice as many as I should have, so had to go back and make another pass. My apologies if I couldn’t select your fur face, I probably wanted to!
In case you’re new (in which case, welcome!): Favorites are chosen by one of the Snout Selectors (KrabbyPaddy, mrsfinch, facw, Xyl0c41n3, Chuckles or CBG), entirely on our own whimsy. WHIMSY. However, in the interest of solidarity, we try to select one dog picture and one cat picture (minimum!) each week. Other pets will also, of course, be considered. We love all your rats, bunnies, ferrets and other furry, feathery & finny pals. WE WILL NEVER DISCRIMINATE AGAINST CUTE. As always, we’re happy to dismiss any pictures if you decide you want them taken down at some point.
If you don’t have a pet of your own to feature this week, I highly recommend featuring and linking to any cuties who are available for adoption and looking for a home on any shelter or rescue site. I know I’m not the only one lurking on Petfinder!
In that sharing spirit, if you don’t have a pet but want to participate, drop off your best Internet find of an animal gif or meme or tweet in the comments. The more animal lovers, the merrier:) Speaking of sharing, feel free to share these posts anywhere in the Kinja-verse, because it has been scientifically documented that looking at pictures of cute animals reduces stress.
With that out of the way, let’s check in on last week’s best!
simon-on-the-river3's brought us Tiddly unfazed by the snow, though perhaps not pleased by photography.
In very different weather, teamPenguin gave us Sheba celebrating her 22nd (22nd!) birthday by soaking up the rays. There was also a mention of party over the weekend, which I hope means pictures of cats in silly hats!
It’s getting a bit cat-centric here, but I’m not going to deny Frizzy, who clearly feels pretty strongly about denying woodle the chance to get her bag and go to class.
Monster similarly felt that TheTalentedMzRipley had more important things to take care of.
Let’s finally get some dogs in, here’s Lucie, who is not allowed on gerbilsoutofexile’s couch, and yet seems pretty well planted there.
There was a similar seating problem for Batman, except that his issue was that Jettgirl24 had sat in his chair. He was not amused. Humans should know better than to sit on other’s furniture.
Also on the furniture front, Alice is clearly pleased by Mimi_Krimi’s recent bookshelf addition.
HeyDorthVader’s Pemi also has a new space, albeit one that’s not quite as enclosed.
Xyl0c41n3's Enzo (whose birthday I missed last time I did FFF, sorry Enzo!) on the other hand, is slowly building up to getting out of his house, though he seems pretty unsure about his neighbor hanging out outside.
Meanwhile, EL_ULY’s Waiti had a successful first trip outside, taking in the big-city lights.
Waiti wasn’t the only baby making a showing though, KK4Bama gave us a well insulated newborn kitten.
BeakerC provided some brand new baby buns.
And JawzX2's freshly shorn flock has added a great many lambs.
And finally, Perwinkle’s Izzo is clearly not a young pup, but is clearly a very good dog.
It was unfortunately also a week in which we lost several very good fur faces.
LadySparrow had to say goodbye to Mephistopheles (seen here being climbed on by Nutmeg).
And mwittier lost both Sassy:
and friend of the family Max the Bulldog (shown here with Rocky the cat):
It’s unfair that they can’t stay with us longer, but that just means we must treasure the time we have with them. With that in mind, it’s time to show us your Fur Faces!
