How’s it going?
If you want to see something uplifting then check out Bert Kreischer’s new Netflix special, Hey Big Boy. The Starbucks bit about white women and racism at the beginning is worth it alone, but he’s also the only human being I’ve EVER been able to listen to talk about his kids at length and not want to shove icepicks into my ears. If you’re not familiar with Bert, he’s the dude that Ryan Reynolds movie from 2002 (holy shit, 18 years) National Lampoon’s Van Wilder was based on (based on this 1997 Rolling Stone profile about his 7 years of partying at FSU)
He’s become a fucking funny standup since then (I laugh aloud even by myself to the point of tears sometimes) who doesn’t really tell jokes as much as just tell you about his life in a very skilled and endearing manner. The material he does about his daughters and wife, whom he clearly adores, is fucking gold. If you only watch one thing he’s done though, then this story from his The Machine Netflix special a few years ago about how he got that nickname in college should probably be the one.
