Hey! So . . . what are your favorite smutty movies? (By "smutty," I mean anything sexually, lexically, or figuratively obscene or suggestive.) I've got two lusty and romantic Japanese/international erotic art films courtesy of Twitter Al Pastor. (Thanks out to Al!) My selections are a couple of foul-mouthed, horny indie comedies from Canada, plus three raunchy partially or wholly female-made sex comedies from the U.S. Watch whichever trailers you're in the mood for and free to skip over the others!
Share whatever you like about your bloody fucking favorite smut movies—or television or web series! What the fuck ever. Have at it!
In the Realm of the Senses
Read at the YouTube page and Wikipedia about this provocative 1976 Japanese-French politically and erotically charged film, which featured unsimulated sexual activity and is still censored or banned in its home country and around the world.
The Pillow Book
It's been a while since I saw The Pillow Book, but I recall it being a stunning (and rather steamy) film. Full frontal Ewan McGregor, y'all!
I really didn't expect to love this Canadian hockey comedy flick as much as I do! (Wandering Wombat loves it, too!!!) Written by cutie Jay Baruchel (to the left), who hilariously co-stars, and Seth Rogen's filmmaking partner Evan Goldberg—who told an interviewer that they make "filthy, funny movies with a heart of gold," which is a pretty apt description for this movie! Alison Pill (The Newsroom) and Liev Schrieber (Ray Donovan), both of whom are excellent, co-star. Sean William Scott, who—thank fucking God—is very "un-Stiffler" in his role, plays the lead: a strong, silent, sweet type. He really impressed me. This partially federally funded film was so successful in Canada that they are making a sequel. Can't fucking wait! WATCH ON NETFLIX.
Fubar 2: Balls to the Wall
Remember that scene in Wayne's World with the guy that's partied out in the Mirthmobile? That's basically these dudes, a couple of dumb Canadian heshers (\m/) out for a good time and learning a life lesson or two. This 2010 mockumentary is a much awaited sequel to the surprise 2002 cult classic Fubar. Really funny, ridiculous, and well cast. A good time all around!
For a Good Time, Call . . .
A truly fucking hilarious and delightfully sweet and raunchy 2012 female-written sex comedy by Katie Anne Naylon (a sex phone operator in college) and her lovely bestie, Lauren Miller (funny lady and wife of Seth Rogen), who co-stars with awesome, hilarious babe Ari Graynor. Justin Long really shines as a comic and their friend and matchmaker!
The To Do List
It didn't quite live up to my expectations, but I still enjoyed the hell out this funny 2013 sex comedy, which stars hilarious Aubrey Plaza a 1993 Boise, Idaho, high school valedictorian and virgin set upon experiencing every sexual act on her "To Do List" before beginning college in the fall. This debut film by writer/director Maggie Carrey (wife of Bill Hader, who co-stars) has a great cast, including Hader, Donald Glover, and Andy Samberg in a small role as a smirking Grunge dude.
Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
If you've not seen this funny, kitschy, sexy, cheeky, smutty, self-aware '80s horror comedy co-written by and starring legendary B-horror movie hostess Elvira, then you must head on over to NETFLIX and watch it forthwith! I really wanted to devote a whole post to it for Smut Week, but alas. Cassandra Peterson (AKA Elvira) appeared on a recent episode of the web series RuPaul Drives, in which Peterson explains how this awesome film was little seen because its distribution company folded very shortly after the film's release (major bummer!). Perhaps more importantly, RuPaul proclaims Elvira, Mistress of the Dark to be one his top five films! I am with you all the way, Ru. ♥
