Midnight Movie: "Foul Play" (USA, 1978)

Hello, BackTalkers! Tonight's Midnight Movie is the madcap comedy thriller Foul Play, starring Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase, set in late '70s San Francisco. The film was written and directed by Colin Higgins, whose other two directing credits are, fuck yeah, 9 to 5 and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (both of which he co-wrote). He also wrote Harold and Maude and the smash 1976 comedy thriller Silver Streak, which starred Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor.

It's been a few years since I've since this film, which I recall thinking was a lot of fun, so I'm pretty excited about watching it again. I can't remember much to tell you about it, but I can tell you there's everything you'd want from a late '70s comedy: a lewd discoball-lit striptease by Dudley Moore, cute '70s glasses and hair on Goldie Hawn, a crazy chase through the streets of San Francisco, and an incident at an opera hall. And a lot of laughs. Goldie's in good form here and so is Chevy Chase. Have a cozy evening & enjoy the show!
